About these terms

Stream25 is file storage: you upload your files, we keep them safe, and you get them back whenever you want them. These terms are the agreement between you and Stream25 (“we”, “us”) covering the website, the apps and everything they connect to — the “Service” from here on.

Using the Service means you accept them. They are short on purpose, and written to be read rather than skimmed past.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and don’t reuse it from somewhere else. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so if you think someone else has got in, tell us through the contact page and we’ll help you shut it down.

Keep the email address on your account current — it is how we reach you if something needs your attention.

Your files stay yours

You keep every right you had in the files you upload. We claim nothing in them, and uploading something here does not give us a stake in it.

What we need is the narrow technical permission to run a storage service: to store your files, copy them between servers, back them up, and deliver them to you and to anyone you have chosen to share them with. That permission covers nothing else, and it ends when you delete the file or close your account.

We don’t sell your files, mine them for advertising, or use them to train models.

The flip side is that the files are yours to answer for: you confirm you have the rights you need to upload and share what you upload and share.

Content guidelines

We don’t monitor what people upload and we have no interest in your files. There is a short list of things that cannot be here, because no host anywhere is allowed to carry them:

  • material that sexually exploits a child;
  • malware, phishing kits, or anything built to break into other people’s systems;
  • content whose distribution is a crime in itself, or that you have no right to distribute.

That’s the list. Beyond it we are not in the business of policing taste, and we are not going to lecture you about what you store.

Sharing files

You can share any file you have stored by sending someone a link to it. That’s yours to do and doesn’t need our permission.

Two practical things worth knowing. A share link works for whoever holds it, so treat it as public once it leaves your hands; and turning sharing off or deleting a file stops future access, but can’t recall a copy someone already downloaded.

You are responsible for what you put behind a link, including what the people you gave it to do with it afterwards.

Copyright

If you hold the rights to something and find it here without your permission, tell us through the contact page and we will take it down. Include the link or the URL of the file, enough detail to identify the work, and a way to reach you. Accounts that repeatedly host material they have no rights to lose access.

If something of yours came down and you think that was a mistake, write back and say so. Notices get sent in error, and we would rather look again than leave your file offline.

Storage, limits and plans

Your account comes with a storage quota, and there may be limits on file size, transfer volume or request rate. We publish the current ones in the Service and will give you reasonable notice if they change.

Go over a quota and we’ll ask you to free up space or move up a plan before anything else happens. Where the Service offers paid plans, the price and the included storage are what you saw at checkout; subscriptions renew until you cancel, cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, and we will tell you before any price change takes effect.

Availability and backups

We work hard to keep the Service up, but no host can promise perfection. There will be maintenance, and occasionally there will be problems we didn’t plan for.

Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose. Hardware fails and software has bugs, here as anywhere. Don’t let Stream25 be the only place a file exists.

Features may be added, changed or retired as the Service develops. If we ever shut it down for good, we will tell you well beforehand and leave you time to get your files out.

Removing content and closing accounts

You can close your account whenever you like.

From our side, we would much rather solve a problem than close anyone’s account. If something you have uploaded has to come down, we will normally tell you why and give you the chance to put it right. We act without that conversation only when there is no room for one — a valid legal notice, a live security problem, or the short list under Content guidelines.

When you delete a file it stops being reachable straight away, though copies can sit in backups and caches for a while before they are overwritten in the normal course of things. When an account closes we remove what it held after a short grace period, so export anything you want to keep first.

Privacy

We collect what running the Service actually requires: your account details, the technical logs every server keeps, and payment records if you are on a paid plan. That’s it.

Outside of what it takes to run the Service, we disclose nothing unless the law leaves us no choice — a line we include because it is true of every host, and terms that promise otherwise aren’t worth reading.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it — express, implied or statutory — including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a file stored on it will always be retrievable.

To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits or business, or for loss of or damage to data, however it happens. Our total liability for any claim connected to the Service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

None of this removes a right your local law gives you and does not let us take away, and nothing here excludes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

General

We may update these terms as the Service changes. The effective date at the top moves when we do, and for anything significant we’ll give notice in the Service before it takes effect; carrying on after that means you accept the new version. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stand. Not enforcing something once doesn’t mean we’ve given it up. You can’t transfer this agreement without our say-so; we may transfer it to whoever takes over the Service.

Contact

Anything at all — questions about these terms, a takedown request, or a problem with your account — goes through the contact page. Include the relevant link so we can find what you mean.
